General Meeting for 2010-2011

After the massive pain that is scheduling a room in the new union, I have finally managed to find a room for our general meeting. Unfortunately, that day is tomorrow, September 24, at noon. We will be meeting in the sphinx room. I realize that this is incredibly short notice and unfortunately I don't have the email addresses of the older members who use the forum more frequently. I'll try to figure out a better way to contact these members after classes today, and if you notice this post in time and know a good way to do that, please post.

I sent a PM to the people I could think of (Mike, Thomas, Trever, and Guy [assuming Guy is still our faculty advisor]). I have no idea if they’ll see it in time or show up. I’ll drop by around noon. At the least, it’s an excuse to see the new Ohio Union.

The only other regular was Rob, and he rage quit last week.

Edit: I also PM’d Josh. I didn’t mean to forget him.

Oops, I didn’t realize that tomorrow was a home game. I’m not going to pay $15 to park for an hour, so I probably won’t be dropping by.

If there are any DMs looking for players at the meeting, it would be a good idea for them to post recruitment posts in the recruitment forum in case there are players who missed the meeting today (due to the short notice).

The meeting was in the Sphinx Room in the new Ohio Union.

Historically, that’s where the club always met, but the construction of the new Ohio Union meant that we’ve been meeting in the classrooms for the last few years. I don’t know if today was a one time thing or if the club will continue to meet in the Ohio Union regularly from here on out.

What I was told is that the classroom people don't want to give out classroom space because the union is there now, and the union people don't want to give space because the place is new and they don't want people ruining it for campus tours.

If that’s the case, then it’s a shame that students are paying a fee for something that they’re apparently not supposed to use.

It's like the RPAC: they can use it, but it should be pretty, neat, and under control.

I haven't checked my Google Reader in a couple weeks, so just found this out!  How was the attendance last week at the Union meeting room?  I may stop in this Saturday if there'll be games

I'm not sure if they plan to have weekly meetings.  When I was there, they were doing a tutorial on how to make a D&D 4.0 character with the character builder application.
