Kenada: I am still checking all the little bits and pieces, but you are 20 Build Points over: Your attributes were 200 Build Points, and you did them correctly; you also did your edge correctly (not counting it in the attributes total) but you forgot to count it anywhere else, either.
Oops! I’ll drop Edge to 2 and Charisma to 2 to make up the difference.

Quote
I would drop some combination of Blades, Heavy Weapons, and Throwing Weapons, and get Dodge up to 4 (good for when you need to take cover). Or dump the firearms group and pick just one to focus on. You have lots and lots of weapon skills, about 3 times as much as anyone else.
I’m a weapon specialist, so I ought to be able to pick up any weapon and use it effectively. At Thomas’s suggestion, I dropped unarmed and bows from my skill list, so I’m a little less generalized compared to the example character in the book.

I’m going to leave the dodge at 2 just because it fits the character concept. Orks used to beat the shit out of him all the time, but eventually he learned enough to tell them to fuck off. That’s also why he has an ork ganger contact.

Edit: How much to earbuds/headphones run? I have 1,350¥ left over (by my math), so I should be able to afford them to make my subvocal microphone more useful.

Kenada: It took me a while, but i finally noticed your ninja edit there.

I finished putting in all of your gear, and I'm certain something is missing. Everything lines up and matches what you listed, but you've got 48,085 nuyen left over.

48,000.

Something has to be missing.

Is it possible to get an itemized list or a copy of the spreadsheet you created? I don’t have my book or spreadsheet handy, so I can’t see where I screwed it up.

Wait? Left over? I thought I was over. :o It’s possible I omitted something that is still on my spreadsheet. It’s possible I omitted something that is still on my spreadsheet. I’ll post my itemized list when I get home tonight, but before we leave to come over.

Off the top of my head, most gun costs were doubled due to the internal smartgun systems; and I had about 10k worth of ammo. And wired reflexes 1 is 11k.

I forgot my DocWagon Gold contract in my list. Oops. I probably added extra smartgun systems, which means I have money to burn. :) It was late, and I didn’t read the descriptions.

Mission 1:  Go to the store to procure some earbuds.

I'll put image link on my glasses and take off the smartlink.  Then I'll get some AR Gloves (Mission 2).  That should let me use my commlink like normal people.

earbuds: 10¥
smartlink: -500¥
image link: 25¥
AR gloves: 250¥

Plus I'll pick up a level 2 medkit and sound localization for my earbuds:
200¥ + 100¥

Also I'll get rid of the combat fetish, it doesn't work the way I thought it did. (Got mixed up with 3rd ed): -200¥

total: I get 115¥ back.

I think I increased the cost of ammunition by a magnitude and bought superflous smartgun addons for my weapons. Taking those out leaves me about 19k to spend on more guns (probably an Aztechnology Stinger and some missles for it). :D

Thomas: yes, that's correct.

You don't need a Sim Module or Trodes to interact with AR, ans long as you've got gloves and an image link. But having a Sim Module and Trodes will greatly enhance the experience, and they are dirt cheap.

Drop smartlink, add imagelink, AR Gloves, and you've got 770 nuyen left.

add in Sim Module, Trodes, and throw in Virtual Surround Music and Wall Space, you'll still have 520 nuyen left over for entertainment or something. Remember, any money unspent is basically lost after character creation.

EDIT: yay for rapid posting!
Thomas, the combat fetish is a good thing to have; if you tie your combat spells to it, you can't cast them without it (which sucks), but you get +2 dice on the roll to resist drain (which is good). You've still got money, so keeping it doesn't hurt.

Throw in the Spacial Recognizer upgrade to your earbuds and a rank 2 medkit, you've still got 220 left over.

Kenada: by my count, you've got 20,685 nuyen left over. You need earbuds/headphones, and probably want a Sim Module and Trodes, plus toys. So 20k for more guns and ammo OR another piece of 'ware.

My character doesn’t really do the AR thing. He doesn’t see the point when he can drink delicious alcohol instead.

What’s it cost for a 6-pack, anyway? I want him to have some backup beer for when he’s on a run.

Edit: What does goggles rating do?

rating on goggles/earbuds/etc determines number of "enhancement" slots available. So goggles with Image link, smartlink, vision zoom, and thermographic would need to be at least rating 4.

I have no idea what a 6-pack of beer costs; I think it's supposed to be covered under lifestyle, assuming you're drinking the medium-stuff.

That doesn't make sense to me: they go through the trouble of forcing you to buy  ammo and clips separately, but don't list the price of beer.

I would say a 6 pack of beer is around 10¥

Maybe I'll use the Fetish for my Lightning Bolt spell, that's pretty high drain so it might be worth it.

I guess I might as well get the 'trodes and sim module, you're right about them blowing away your money at character creation.  I always forget about that.  I might as well buy a couple of spare clips and a concealable holster too.

I updated my equipment (and itemized it). Highlights include a vibro claymore and a Stoner Ares M202 with EX-explosive rounds. :batman:

FWIW I talked to Trever, and he’s thinking of making a street doc (but isn’t 100% sure on that).

How much does a collapsable beer hat cost? I need something to stick a couple of beers in while I’m using my machine gun.
