Are "traits" available?

They’re not part of the core. It appears they’re in some sort of web-supplement. I’m hessitant to bring lots of stuff, but I’ll look over them and let you know.

I will review the traits supplement when I get home today. Right now, consider it a tenative “yes”.

I also need to decide how I want to handle the power difference between tieflings and the other races since tieflings can cast darkness and have elemental resistances. My inclination is to take the suggestion in the Council of Thieves Player’s Guide and require tieflings to take the Infernal Bastard trait. It does power down tieflings, but it should put them in line with other races with a trait.

I have finished reviewing the Tiefling stuff. If people want to use the Tiefling variants, they have to roll randomly to see which one they get. They also have the option to roll on the random feature table. There is a feat available to give you more control over choosing your variant and random feature.

I would also like to note that people in Cheliax (and hence Westcrown) really hate tieflings. Really hate tieflings. One would think that an evil society that worships Asmodeus would be more tolerant of them, but Chelian society is an orderly premised on summoning, binding, and controlling devils. Tieflings represent a loss of that control, and that is unacceptable to many people. Tiefling characters should expect to get a lot of shit from people.

I also wanted to add the party coherence is important. I’m not going to ban any particular alignment. I do expect there to be some tension if we have a mix of good and evil party members, but let’s not have the party TPK itself before the first adventure is done.
