However, blaming us for your choices is complete bullshit. Thomas and Mike both offered to help you come up with a background (in my game), and you rejected their help. You said you wanted to do it yourself, but you always had an excuse why you couldn’t.
I initially gave you the option of writing something (anything!) or taking a penalty, and you ignored it. I then decided that we would create your character background, but that we do so as rumors so that you could take ownership of it at any point. I have said repeatedly that you could always do so. When it went too far, I tried to change the nature of the rumors (to
WRATHGAR = Chuck Norris). You seemed to be playing along with it well enough.
Of course, I could have instead told you that you were not welcome, and maybe I should have. Given that I consider a player’s refusal to write anything about his character as unacceptable, would you have prefered that?
