I am sick and tired of all the pseudo-hostile butt monkey treatment.

I have explained my feelings on character backgrounds. Let me in, understand and accept it, or work with me and try to actually HELP instead of mock, or say "no, they are required, sorry". Any choice would have been understandable.

What is NOT acceptable is the passive-aggressive crap I've been subjected to for months. So I am done.

Since no one came up with a method for invading the city, we are going to use my idea that will entertain me.

And Rob, I don't think I have heard much interest from you in your character gaining an actual body, instead of living as a sort of magical construct.  I know it's a little limiting at times, so if you really want you can take over the body of one of the robots in the next adventure.

I will be using that, but it isn't specific enough to count as a plan.  "We'll talk to my guy Allonius to get access to the labyrinth under the city that the nobles had made to let the slaves move around the city without being seen by citizens" would be specific enough to count.  But it's going to be robots.  Possibly very annoying robots, since one of them has to take over the leader position for a session.

However, blaming us for your choices is complete bullshit. Thomas and Mike both offered to help you come up with a background (in my game), and you rejected their help. You said you wanted to do it yourself, but you always had an excuse why you couldn’t.

I initially gave you the option of writing something (anything!) or taking a penalty, and you ignored it. I then decided that we would create your character background, but that we do so as rumors so that you could take ownership of it at any point. I have said repeatedly that you could always do so. When it went too far, I tried to change the nature of the rumors (to WRATHGAR = Chuck Norris). You seemed to be playing along with it well enough.

Of course, I could have instead told you that you were not welcome, and maybe I should have. Given that I consider a player’s refusal to write anything about his character as unacceptable, would you have prefered that?

Funny, I remember specifically asking for help, asking Mike and Thomas and you, and not getting it. Thomas was the only one who offered anything, and even that was just a couple vague suggestions.

Also, your "rumors" were nothing more than mockery, so I ignored the entire post. Then you had an NPC ask me if "the rumors were true". Having forgotten about the insulting post you made, I said "yes". At which point I was labeled a sheep-fucker.

I recall Mike making a few suggestions, such as having Wrathgar’s adventuring be some kind of challenge or competition because goliaths are competitive by nature, that were shot down because you said wanted to create the background yourself.

That’s what I was referring to as “going too far”. I even said as much when you complained about it then.

Edit: I don’t see the point in arguing over this further. The way your background was done was poorly handled on my part, and I apologize for that.

Out of curiosity, would it have been acceptable if I had just decreed that Wrathgar came from a tribe of goliaths in the mountains and wanted to explore more of the world than ever before? Or if Wrathgar had watched his family killed in front of him, and wanted to protect more people than anyone else had ever protected?
