The US military is trying to portray itself as "cute" in this propaganda.  Cute like a kitten.  A little boy with a rabbit-ear hoodie who squashes bugs because the natives of the country he is visiting are too scared or disgusted to be able to handle them on their own.  It's offensive to anyone represented by a character in the comic, but it's supposed to be propaganda in favor of the military.  And yet it seems like a lot of people think that it has been well-received.

As far as Military Propaganda goes, that's fairly tame. Daffy Duck as Hitler is far more shocking / stupefying, which is the point of this thread.

It's a subversion; the punchline is that there is no punchline. It's deep.

Too bad every kid in the world tells it like it's actually funny - kids don't get it, and then the effect is ruined.
