Here is your quick reference for combat!
Each turn a character has a base of two actions (per body part) and two focus to spend. Each can be split into half-actions. You may take up to an additional action/focus beyond that.
* When you use up your second focus, anything near you, which hasn't already done so, may make an attack of opportunity. For each easy action you take after that (small focus) you provoke another attack of opportunity to anything with an available attack of opportunity. There are skills to increase a characters Attack of Opportunity (or actions of opportunity) per turn. Yes, if you can cast a spell as a quick/easy action, it too can be an attack of opportunity. Yes, there are skills to allow you to do this.
* When you use up your second action for a limb, you get a -10 for that action. For each subsequent quick action, take an cumulative -10. As an example, you take two normal attacks, the second takes a -10 penalty. Then you take a third. This third attack is akin to two quick actions - the first taking -20 and the second -30, so the third standard attack would take a -50.
- Quick Attacks: -25 to attack, this is an easy/quick action (half focus, half action)
- Normal Attacks: no bonus/penalty, normal focus, normal action
- Full Attack: +25 to attack, this is a hard/difficult action (1.5 focus, 1.5 action)
- Quick Spell: If you don't succeed a certain skill check, you fail to cast the spell. (half focus, half action)
- Normal spell: no bonus/penalty, normal focus, normal action
- Focused spell: No special bonus unless it's built into the spell (needs skill "Magic Enhancer: Time"). 1.5 action, 1.5 focus
* There is a skill, called Athletics, Focus. Every 25 score in this gives you an additional 1/2 focus. When you start having skills in the level 20000+ XP in them, you might want to start looking at this skill. This skill gets a bonus from your Willpower, but that bonus cannot exceed your level in the skill (so, if you have a 25 willpower, 10000EXP in this skill, and no training points, you are level 10 in the skill, and have +10 from willpower, giving you a total score of 20).
* There is a skill called Athletics, Swiftness. This gives you an extra quick action per 25 score in this skill. This skill gets a bonus from your Coordination, but the bonus cannot exceed your level in the skill (so, if you have a 25 coordination, 1000EXP in this skill, and no training points, you are level 10 in the skill, and have +10 from willpower, giving you a total score of 20).
