Certainly had a full day today.  The heroes managed to cut their way through the undead in Barovia and were even able to save Ashlyn of the Lightbringers as well as Sir Urik the Knight of Ravenkind. In doing so they bought another day for the humble people of Barovia. They are currently at the gallows and crossroads along the Tser River, where they seem to have been stalked by worgs. To get to Madam Eva our heroes must make their way through more of the ominous Svalich Woods.

Between the hordes of undead, saving both crusaders, and protecting the townspeople, the xp gained from this session was:

6000xp

Everyone who played this session should be at 21,000xp now, and thus level 7.

Ravenloft will see you next week, its waiting for you.

thats alright, the party has both paladins along with them now and also have a few followers (sort of) so they should be ok for 1 session.

I know they'll be just fine (as fine as you can be in Ravenloft). I was just making sure you knew.

Smith was locked up all around yesterday so I'm assuming it might still be today, any thoughts on where to go if we can't get in Smith?

We played in one of Jim's friend's offices across the street.  So not entirely an option for us.

The terrors of the Realm of Mists are becoming more prevalent, and so is its mysteries. The pc's have met with Madam Eva and in exchange for escorting three members of her gypsy troupe back to their camp she told them their fortunes. The pc's traveled the road through the forest back to Barovia at night, and were greeted unpleasantly by the denizens of the land of mists.

The next day on their travels back to Barovia the warlock Khalil flew off on his own chasing after some dwarf they saw near the edge of the forest. He attacked the nameless dwarf and found that the cunning and resourcefulness that a man of the forest finds in the Svalich Woods to be too much to handle on his own, and retreated with more than his pride wounded.

When they made their way back to Barovia the pc's went straight for the church, avoiding the renewed undead force in the barovian streets. Inside the church they found some mad priest and his laboratory in the church understory, where they found the most horrific of his undead creations: a blaspheme. The pc's escaped on their own, but in doing so leaving the lightbringer paladin Ashlyn to her own fate alone with the horrors underneath the church.

Meeting back up with the dwarven cleric Gilimi, the party decides it better to investigate the cryptic messages of Madam Eva. Finding the lost Holy Symbol of Ravenkind in the most unlikely of places, the players lose their chance to simply purchase the relic when revealing that they had looted effects from the church in Barovia, leading the shopkeep to refuse any sort of business with them ever.

Frustrated with members of the very town they are trying to save turning refusing them, the party decides to seek out Sir Urik they met at the crossroad several days prior. Not truly expecting him to still be there, they take the road that terminates toward Castle Ravenloft. Not far along that path tho they spot a ruined, burned-down tower on the top of a large hill. At the tower they encountered a conglomerated mass of ghostly faces, attacking them with strange powers and forcing the party to retreat. During the next day they were attack by a raging wild-man, who quickly dropped the dwarf with 2 swings of his sword, and after the warlock was able to destroy his sword he went on the offensive with his fists, and after landing a hit he drained the binder's life force just like a vampire, except it was during the day! They fought him off but were sorely feeling the effects of the fight, that night after revitalizing the dwarf they went back to the tower with preparations to consecrate the ground, bolstering their strength against the strange ghost-thing. They dispersed the thing and searched the tower hard, but finding nothing they went back down the hill to the road and set up camp.

xp gained: 4900

see you all next week!
