Broca received a request from a Tiefling merchant in Fallcrest to retrieve his kidnapped daughter. The kidnapper told him exactly where the daughter was taken, which is why she hadn't been rescued yet. She was taken to the ruins of the ancient city of Arigrad. We found out that Arigrad had been destroyed by a celestial object centuries ago, and that strange beings now roamed the blasted heath that made up Arigrad and its surroundings. No one was known to have ever ventured to Arigrad and returned with soundness of mind intact.
Given that, 1000 gold pieces was more than sufficient to convince our group to venture north, through treacherous terrain, to the blasted lands. This is because we are too "good" for our own good, apparently. We fought bears and nature, only to nearly fall victim to a monster known as a "grue". Upon entering the heath, we noticed that all life, all moisture, seemed pulled toward the center of what was once the town. Finally killing the grue and his cohorts, we ventured to one of the few remaining buildings and there fought the kidnapper, her henchmen, and a floating brain with poison barbed tentacles, all the while avoiding the giant pulsating flesh-orb that seemed to call us to join with it. We saved the Tiefling girl Ea, only to find that she was both insane and pregnant, possibly due to her long-term exposure to the horrors that could cause insanity even at a glance. We journeyed to Fallcrest, where we hope Ea can find a cure for whatever ailment she might have acquired in those harrowing lands.
