I would be okay with that, but I won't always be able to drive myself up and it's looking like I'll be out of town even more than I had thought.
The idea I had in mind was less to meet less frequently (probably a couple times a month) when everyone was available. So far, I’ve only got buy-in from Trever.
Since my work load is doubled this quarter, I cannot run a game that requires any consistent sort of preparation..
I guess then the current game is on a hiatus of sorts then unless someone else is interested in picking up.
What has dissatisfied you?
It’s a combination of many things I think. The club’s not really like how it used to be. There’s no con anymore (and I would be surprised to see it resurface again), and schedules are tighter. I enjoyed arriving around 1:00 PM, playing a board game with the other group, and playing D&D all day.
I’ve also been frustrated by people just getting up and leaving*. Not everyone wants to (or is able to) play late, and that was something I enjoyed doing.

(One of the reasons why I had been encouraging encounter cards is to try to speed up play so that we don’t run into a situation where the natural stopping point in the adventure is later in the evening than people would like to play.)
Is it coming to campus?
The problem for me with campus is that there’s not really any value-add to it. Food’s not really near-by (like at the Union), and I have no internet access. Plus, I have to lug a lot of crap around. I think I’m at the stage where Guy’s group decided it just made more sense (for them) to meet off campus.
Playing every week? Inconsistent players?
I think playing every week when people’s schedules don’t really permit that makes the game feel less cohesive when you have to swap around characters to get good party composition.
Something else?
Work’s always rather stressful. With the amount of time spent in prep for this module, getting ready to run is like a second job. And that’s just burning me out.

* I wouldn’t say this has happened in D&D 4e, but it did happen in Exalted (from my perspective).
