Alroc:
The weapons master sizes you up, then lunges at you.  Melee touch attack (1d20+14=34)
Grapple check (1d20+18=30)
Come on, show me what you're made of! he taunts.

Kundari:
In short order you are able to determine the location of the Sivis message station.  You are greeted at the door by a pipsqueak of a gnome whose deep, rumbling basso voice seems completely out of place in one of such diminutive stature.  Welcome to Sivis House, stranger.  In what way may we be of assistance this day? He directs you to a large plaque on the wall, on which is listed the services available at the House: Notary, Message delivery (swift), Message delivery (instant), Oral translation, Written translation.

If possible, I would like this document in written translation. I would also like to set up communication with my compatriots in Aerenal, but after I ascertain whether this document can be translated by your house.

Resist Grapple (1d20+7=22)
Alroc succumbs to the grapple but swiftly braces his entire body with a strike.
Stone Bones [Slam Attack & Damage] (+5DR/adam if hit.) (1d20+8=25, 1d4+4=8)
He then bolsters himself with Motivate Power and Motivate Attack. (+3 STR-related checks, +2 to attack.)
My plating and will are one and the same! Alroc bolsters.

(Your attack is successful.)
You know a thing or three, I'll grant you that.  But it'll take more than boasts to defeat me, sonny! he growls.
Releasing you from the grapple, he swiftly drops into a combat stance.  (Giant's stance, melee attacks deal damage as if one size category larger)
Out of nowhere, his fist strikes at you like a Stone Vise.(atk: 1d20+10=22)(dmg: 1d8+1d6+3=12, immobilized if hit)

Alroc takes the blow but most of it is absorbed with his adamantine plating and joints. (4 damage taken and speed drops to 0'.) He plants his feet firmly to the ground while in the melee scuffle. (Stance: Roots of the Mountain; +2DR/- and +10 to resist forced movement as long as I stand in place.) Alroc then grabs the master on his lapel and attempts to throw him out of the grapple with a shout. GRAH!
Escape Grapple [Action Point and Motivate Power] (1d20+1d6+10=25)

Kundari waits patiently for the gnome to respond.

Certainly, friend.  'Tis the work of but a moment.
He accepts the parchment from you and glances over it.  Gesturing and murmuring nonsense syllables, he runs his hands over the parchment.  An eerie glow suffuses the letter, then shoots from the letter to the gnome's eyes.  The glow fades, and the gnome mutters
My friend, long have I been isolated from the world, free to continue my research as I saw fit, beholden to no man.  This happy state of affairs, however, is in jeopardy - the location of my sanctuary has been discovered and the facility has come under attack.  The outer defenses have held out thus far, but I fear it is only a matter of time before they are breached.  Come to my aid, my friend, lest all I have uncovered be stolen away by these followers of the Claw.  As you may have suspected, my workshop is deep within the Khraal.  Travel to Wyvernskull and you will be met by my ... associate.  Mir. d'Cannith

He released you from the grapple right before he changed to Giant's Stance.  Did you want to try to grapple and throw him?

Nah; thought he was still in grapple since you can surprisingly still perform stances and maneuvers in them. Instead, Alroc will give him a sucker punch to the gut.
Using the previous rolls; 1d20+1d6+9=24.
Slam Damage (1d4+4=7)

Kundari copies down the translation on some parchment, goes back to the House Cannith branch, steps back over the splintered remains of the door to the office, and puts the original document back in the drawer. He studies the tapestry again, Knowledge(Geography) (1d20+2=15) , to see if the tapestry depicts the Khraal.

Kundari recognizes the mountains depicted in the tapestry as the Starpeaks, an easily distinguishable landmark in northern Aundair.  The forest could be Whisper Woods, in Aundair, or the forest around Thalios, in Thrane; based on the angle of the sunlight depicted, you'd guess that it's Whisper Woods.

The blow has no visible effect on him, but he stands, gestures for you to stop, and says, Good hit, metal man.  I reckon y'know enough I won't hafta waste my time unteaching ya.  Come see me when you've a coupla weeks t'spare, we'll getcha trained right up.  Faster'n these sacks of useless, anyway. He jerks his thumb over his shoulder at the group of youngsters sparring with practice blades.

Alroc nods in agreement and then walks out to go find that elf. Too damn quiet to know exactly where he is.

Kundari attempts to see if he can find out how the tapestry/portal is activated. Knowledge(Arcana);Search (1d20 8=25, 1d20 9=24) . When Alroc eventually finds him, he remarks that It looks like we have our next two destinations figured out.
