You see training ground 3C, a training area made for short range combat. The area is fenced in with barbed wiring with 5 straw dummys staked in some dry ground on one side, obviously for practice with throwing weapons. The training ground is approximately 50 feet per side. You see someone standing there, but it certainly isn't your Chuunin. Whoever it is has their back turned to you and has short blonde hair. They are wearing loose, rag-like clothing that would be appropriate for a desert.

Tsuabki sees that the person is dressed like the people from the Land of Wind and seems to strongly resemble the native race. She walks up to the person. "Excuse me, but who are you?"

The person turns around with a smile on his face. "I'm part of the exchange program your village recently set up with Sunagakure. Sure was a pain to get here. I was attacked by cougars." he says with a grumpy note at the end. "I heard our cell leader is suppose to meet us here for training. What are they like?"
He has a sandy tinge to his face and appears to be around 14. His eyebrows almost seem to melt in with his face, like a snake in the desert sand.

"Well, we had just met Ina-sensei yesterday, but we saw that she works on a farm, so she's probably strong being used to such physical labor. She seems to be nice though a little blunt," Tsubaki blushes slightly recalling yesterday. "I'm Tsubaki and Akira should be coming soon. And you are?"

"My name is Hiya, a pleasure to meet you," he says with a smile. He then takes a look up at the sun "Will our chūnin be here soon? And where's that other kid you mentioned?" he asks impatiently.

"I'm not sure. We're fairly early. Akira seems to oversleep so he'll probably be late. As for Ina-sensei, I'm not sure about her. Hopefully she'll be on time. In the meantime, we can talk. What's it like in Sunagakure? I've never been there."

"It's sandy," he says plainly.
Ina walks onto the raining ground and announces, "Good morning stu!..dents... ah. Seems we're still early. And Akira's not here. Let's wait for him. So I assume you two have gotten to know each other? Hitting some buttons, flipping some switches?" she says with a huge grin. She seems to like teasing her students more than proving her ability to them like other chūnin.

"W-we just got here, Ina-sensei. We only know each other's names," Tsubaki says while blushing. "So, Hiya, how long will you be staying?"

"As long as I need to." he says plainly. "As soon as the slot is filled on this team, I'm out."

It is 8:15 AM, and Akira is jolted awake by the horrifying din of his new alarm clock. He quickly puts his uniform and heavy vest, then dashes out the front door. Not wanting to be (too) late, Akira sprints the entire way to training ground 3C.

As he approaches, he yells, “Hey guys, am I on time?

Day 2: Everybody to the Limit!
« Reply #40 on: December 05, 2007, 03:34:18 AM »
"Yes, in fact you are on time. Whatever you're using, keep using it. Unless it's drugs. Those are bad." Ina says light-heartedly.
"As you can see, this is the third member of your squad. His name is Hiya and he's from Sunagakure on part of an exchange to improve relations between the hidden shinobi villages. The last thing we need is tension leading up to another war."
"It's a pleasure to meet you, Akira." Hiya says politely.

"The reason you're at this training ground is for me to measure your ability at combat as a team. We'll be playing out an ambush situation with live combat. I will be your target, although I will be pulling all my punches. Can't gauge a dead team. Feel free to use lethal force against me; we have an able med-nin handy and I have some medical supplies in my backpack. You will have ten minutes of prep time in this training ground and I will then return and give the starting signal. Are we clear?"
"Crystal." Hiya says matter-of-factly. He puts his hands behind his back and it comes to your attention he has 3! belt pouches on, two shuriken holsters on his thighs, and some sort of blade hidden in the spine of his clothing.

[A diagram of the training ground is attached. Brown stick figures are straw dummies. Gray line with X's is the barbed fence. It marks the boundary for the test, along with the grass-line. Post anything you'll do to prepare and tell me exactly where you'll be when Ina Kita gives the signal. She will start at a random point along the grass-line. Initiative will be rolled by me. Be sure to list your current hp, chakra, and anything else important at the beginning of a post for convenience.]
[We will be using a variation of the d20M nonlethal damage rules. You will accumulate non-lethal damage as in D&D and will fall unconscious when it is equal to your remaining hp, but if you ever take non-lethal damage that hits your massive damage threshold, make a DC10+amount of damage over massive Fort save or immediately fall unconscious.]
[The fence is 10 feet tall, has 8 hp per 5' square, and hardness of 6. When touched, a +4 attack is made at you with a damage of 1d4 piercing. Provides 1/4 cover. The straw dummy has 50 hp, a hardness of 3, and provides half cover.]
[Thanks for reading all the crunch.  :P]

Hit points: 7/7
Chakra points: 3/4

Tsubaki turns to Akira and Hiya to discuss a plan of action."Ok, we need to figure out a plan. Akira, you are good with taijutsu, so you'll most likely be our main attacker. As of now, I don't know many jutsu and I'm not good with weapons, so I'll make a good distraction when I don't need to heal anyone. I have a kousen and quarterstaff just in case. Hiya, what are you skilled at?"

Hit Points: 10/10
Chakra Points: 6/6

"Short range projectile attacks and ninjutsu. I have plenty of ammunition and can fall back onto taijutsu if need be." He begins to juggle 4 kunai and then catch them in both hands. "Akira, could you help me uproot two of these dummies? I have a plan."

Hit Points: 10⁄10
Chakra: 5⁄5

Akira greets Hiya politely with a bow. “Hello, my name is Samanoske Akira. Sure, I can help you get those dummies.

Fighting unarmed, Akira cracks his knuckles in preparation as he stands over by the dummies, waiting for Hiya to continue.

"Just restake it parallel to this one." He takes the dummy 20 feet into the range and pulls out various strings and a cutter and begins to fiddle with the kunai he was holding.
