The highwayman looks around and sees that he's clearly going to lose.
"Please!" he pleads. "I surrender! Just don't kill me!"
Hiya shoulders his ninja-to but palms a shuriken in each hand just in case. He turns to Akira and asks, "What should we do? If he's honestly surrendering, we can squeeze him for information. If he isn't, we may be taken out. They're smarter than they look."

Akira whispers back, “Before we do anything else, we should probably tie him up so he can’t do anything funny.”

"I think I may have a better idea." Hiya then abruptly nails the highwayman with his ninja-to while it's still in the sheath. Unconsciousness greets the highwayman like the old hooker down the street. "Now let's see what's in the tent."
Hiya searches the small tent for the goods and finds a crate filled with ninja-coms. "Ah, we used these lots back in my village. Must be a rare sight around here. Mind if you lug them Akira? I'll go revive Tsubaki." He then walks over to Tsubaki and searches her backpack for a blood pill and pops it in her mouth. "Wake up, we finished the hard stuff."

[The crate of ninja-coms weighs 50lb and occupies both hands.]

Mystery Roll (1d100=75, 1d100=71, 1d100=2, 1d100=42, 1d100=32)

After being fed the blood pill, Tsubaki slowly comes to. "H-Hiya? What happened? Is everyone ok?"

"We subdued all of the highwaymen. Although it's still in the air what we should do with them. Akira is getting what we came here for out of the tent and I got you up. Those guys were terrible shots, but were wearing these," Hiya holds up 3 strung-out ninja-coms. "They were extremely well coordinated and had unknown capabilities, so we did well."

"Well, I'm at a loss for what we should do with them. Akira, you have any ideas?"

Akira casually picks up the crate and brings it outside.

“Well, we should definitely return these to the merchant. I guess we should bring these guys back too. I’m sure someone in town will know what to do with them.”

"Well, since Akira has his hands full, we'll need some help carrying these guys." Tsubaki reaches in her pack for the flare. She moves a significant distance away from her team, takes the flare and points it up towards the sky, hits the tip with a rock, aims, and fires it.

Around 2 minutes after the flare goes into the air, you see Ina-sensei walking down the road. She sees the knocked out men on the ground and gives a hearty chuckle. "It seems you lived up to your practice combat, team. I assume you need help carrying these guys?" She says this as she gives each one a punch to the temple and she lifts two of the men over her shoulders. Before anyone can say anything else, she starts heading north back to the village. Hiya sighs and lifts the remaining man over his shoulders. He motions forward with his head and says, "She seems to more proactive than I even imagined."

Team 14 starts the journey back to return the stolen goods to the merchant. Tsubaki, feeling a bit guilty of how little she felt she did, apologizes to Hiya and Akira. "Hiya, Akira, you were amazing today. I feel bad that my passing out made you two have to work so hard. Please forgive my weakness and I shall resolve to train much harder."

Akira hoists the crate of goods over his head (like Mario in Mario 2) and continues carrying them back to town.

“Aw, don’t worry about it too much. I totally forgot we had flares to call for Ina-sensei.”

"They had an edge on us and you just happened to be caught in crossfire, don't think anything of it." He continues carrying the man; occasionally he squats to adjust his grip. [like Sam Fisher from Splinter Cell.]
Almost halfway back to town, it's twilight and the sun is close to setting. A snarl is heard nearby undergrowth and a cougar's eyes can be seen looming.
[Survival Check! or Handle Animal if you're suicidal.]
"This... is bad." Survival Check (1d20=6)

Survival Check Against Cougar (1d20 4 1=21)

[Note: I forgot action points were 1d6 not 1 but given the good roll, we'll just assume the 1 was the result of the 1d6]

Tsubaki remembers that when dealing with a cougar, you've got to be "big". You have to scare it. "Don't panic. That's the last thing you want to do. You have to scare it."

Intimidate Check Against Cougar (1d20 2=14)

Tsubaki yells, "Hey! Get away from us! I mean it! I have a quarterstaff and I'm not afraid to use it!" Either not wanting to get its brains bashed in or it found Tsubaki too annoying to kill, it goes back into the grass to sleep. Tsubaki turns back to her team. "Good thing my mom stressed the importance of survival training," Tsubaki says while smiling.

Akira sets the crate down for a moment to give a thumbs up, “Nice one! Way to scare off that big fraidy cat!”

After laughing at his own (painful) attempt at humor for a bit, Akira picks the crate back up, “We better hurry up and get back to town before it gets dark.”

Tsubaki laughs a little at Akira's bad joke. "So, Akira, you went to the academy, right? I never went there since my mother trained me. What was it like?"
